INJURED

John W. Kilpatrick

Daniel Boone Wilson

Edmund Lytle

Stones River National Cemetery, Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee. Died March 21, 1964, at 76 years old. He was 17 years old at the time of the explosion (lived 59 years after).

William Henry Lytle

Greenwood Cemetery, Waco, McLenan County, Texas. Died October 25, 1905, at 65 years old. He was 64 years old at the time of the explosion. He lived two months if the date is correct, but news suggests that he would probably die soon. Further research shows that both his parents were from North Carolina. This evidence indicates that this is indeed William Lytle.

Note: Interesting that the death dates on Lytle’s and Teaster’s graves are incorrect. Lytle’s stone reads October 25, 1905, and Teaster’s reads October 19, 1905. It would appear that both Harmon and William Henry Lytle’s dates were both reported or remembered wrong. I would think that Lytle died on the same day of the explosion being that he was found underneath the boiler with Harmon Teaster. The news states that he will surely die of his injuries.

It is important to point out that I have made every effort to verify these gravestones. I do believe that they are the actual persons listed in the new articles. There may be some errors that when discovered, will be corrected.

One of the four unmarked men listed under the “Dead”, was exhumed and moved to another cemetery. We are currently trying to find out which one of the four men was actually moved.
